About Dana

Hi! I'm Dana.
My pronouns are She / Her / Hers.

I have been teaching Pilates in the Leaside area for the last twelve years.
Before this, I worked for 13 years as a physiotherapist, mostly in a private clinic setting where I treated clients with problems including sports injuries, low back injuries and post-surgical conditions.
My passion for Pilates began when I took some classes for my own fitness. I was impressed by how great it made me feel and how adaptable it was.
As a former physiotherapist, I was excited to discover that Pilates has its roots in rehabilitation. The basic exercises can be gentle and restorative and used to help people recover from injury or just starting out.
On the other hand, Pilates can be very challenging and used to train professional athletes. I apply this adaptability to design group and private Pilates classes for many levels of ability.

In addition to small group and private Pilates, I provide CranioSacral Therapy. This is a gentle but effective form of manual therapy used to alleviate all types of muscle, joint and nerve pain and promotes deep relaxation and healing for the whole body.
This technique was so instrumental in helping me heal my own back pain that I was motivated to study it.
I now use CranioSacral Therapy combined with my knowledge of physiotherapy and Pilates to help others heal too.
